Carlsberg South Western League Callington Town 8 Goonhavern 0 CALLINGTON?S new look youthful team produced the biggest Town win since they joined the South Western League. They hit eight past a hapless Goonhavern side who, having battled well for the first half an hour, were then overrun by the superior play of their hosts. New signing Dennis Mason hit two, with Chris Sully, Jake Benney, Gareth Jones, Lee Crook and Dan Discombe all found the net, along with an own goal to wrap up the scoring. Town took this much improved display into Monday?s League Cup match against Launceston at Pennygillam before sitting out another blank Saturday. They are not back in league action until September 9 with a tough trip to Penryn Athletic.
