A NEW support group for stroke victims is on the way for Okehampton.

The first meeting of a working group to set up the Oke Stroke Club met recently, and the second meeting will be taking place on Tuesday March 8 at 2pm at Castle Ham Lodge in Castle Road.

The Oke Stroke Club is aimed at providing help and information to stroke survivors and their carers, along with time to talk to others who can provide mutual support.

Although this is just a working group at the moment everyone is welcome.

The Oke Stroke Club is one of several new groups taking place at Castle Ham Lodge and set up by Time for Life.

The groups are open to everyone aged 50 and over. Volunteers and tutors are still being sought for some of the groups.
