The Tavistock and Yelverton group will hold its first meeting and launch at the Bedford Hotel, Tavistock, on Tuesday, August 20 at 11am. This will be an informal meeting and everyone is welcome to come and meet members from the group and staff of Marie Curie Cancer Care. Light refreshments will be provided.
Tavistock and Yelverton Fundraising Group will aim to raise vital funds so Marie Curie Nurses can continue to provide free care to people with terminal illnesses, through supporting the charity's major fundraising campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and Blooming Great Tea Party, as well as promoting fundraising within the local community and encouraging new supporters to help the charity.
Sarah Washington, community fundraiser at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: 'The new fundraising group in this area will make a huge difference locally by helping to raise the vital funds needed to support Marie Curie Nurses, who provide free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.'
