Truro C 5

OKEHAMPTON knew this was going to be a tough match against the top of the league leaders. Okehampton had a couple of defensive players out which made the challenge even harder.

The game started with scrappy play while the two teams tested each other. It was Truro who started to gain control and quickly scored three goals while the Oke defence sorted themselves out by not getting drawn too high and allowing Truro to make quick breaks.

Slowly Oke's formation came back together keeping the play out of their 25, which allowed the midfield players Nick Luxton, Chris Searle, Darren Reed and Rob Yell to take more control by pushing up into Truro's half. The first half ended with Truro 3-0 up.

The second half started well for Oke still keeping Truro back in their own half. They were then awarded a short corner which Nick Luxton made no mistake with an excellent strike rattling the back board.

Truro then upped their game and came back with a good strike leaving stand in keeper Will Spry with no chance to save it. Defensive players Ian Miller, Dave Hanks and John Yells coped well with the strong physical play of Truro, but could not hold out when Truro scored their fifth.

Overall it was a tough match for Oke but Clive Maurais, Jacob Lloyd, Toby Lloyd and Adam Cockayne never gave up.

Oke man of the match: Nick Luxton.
