A CHARITY netball match in aid of CLIC Sargent was held in Hatherleigh this week; but this was no ordinary match as the two teams playing against each other were partners.

The match was the idea of Jemima Powlesland, the captain of Sparks who play in the Okehampton Ladies Netball League. Fed up with the boys always saying they could beat them Jemima challenged them to a match and decided to ask for sponsorship to try to raise some money.

The match was a closely fought contest with the boys soon picking up the rules and not incurring too many penalties.

Although the girls played some good netball the boys dominated the court with excellent passing and great shooting. The boys went on to win the match 21-13.

Overall it was a fun night and a total of £300 was raised for CLIC Sargent.
