Tavistock RFC U14 v Okehampton RFC U14 (match abandoned) TAVISTOCK attacked from the kick off with good runs from their forwards, the back row being particularly prominent. Camped inside the Okehampton 22, Tavistock span the ball wide from loose play and wing Josh Stephens crossed in the corner. Further pressure and a surging run by Dan Oner saw him offload well to the backs only for left wing George Rogers to be pulled down just short of the line. With Okehampton forwards winning the set pieces and Tavistock the loose play the game was evenly balanced, but a blind side break by scrum half Naill Murphy, supported by Dan Oner saw the big flanker out pace the defence to score. The half ended 10-0 with Tavistock defending their line from determined Okehampton attacks. The second half began with Tavistock under pressure from the start. From a 5 yard scrum Okehampton moved the ball wide and scored a good try in the corner which was brilliantly converted. 10-7 with all to play for. Tavistock responded and pushed the visitors back through powerful forward runs. From one such drive Dan Oner was hurt with what was potentially a serious neck injury. Paramedics were called and it was decided to abandon the match. Thankfully, after examination in hospital the injury proved less serious than feared and Dan was allowed to return home.
