THE Moorland Guides are inviting interested people to attend a beginners' map and compass course on Saturday.

The six-hour one-day course consists of a three-hour indoor session at the Fox Tor Café in Princetown, including map reading and compass skills, followed by a three-hour moorland navigation walk. Navigation experience is not necessary — refreshments will be served, with soup for lunch.

The day will run from 10am to 4pm and costs £25 for adults, £15 for children 10 to 16. To book call 01647 440053.
