A PRIZE-winning author from Walkhampton is launching her new book at Tavistock's Book Stop next Thursday (June 5). Jenny March, author of the award winning 'Cassell Dictionary of Classical Mythology', will be signing copies of her book The Penguin Book of Classical Myths. In the new book Jenny guides readers through a celebration of enthralling tales of love, tragedy, revenge and heroism. She displays how myths, passed down from generation to generation, are inextricably woven into the fabric of culture and immortalised within art and poetry. Jenny said: 'When we enter the world of myth, we must come, as best we can, with a mind open to what may at first seem alien. The myths are another country. They do things differently there.' Jenny has taught at London and Reading universities and is now attached to Oxford University. She is the editor of the Classical Association's journal 'CA News'. The book, published by Allen Lane, costs £25. The launch is at 6.30pm and all are welcome.
