TALENTED trainees with a passion for panto were treated to a day of delights at the start of January. A 40-strong party of young talented trainee musicians from Hatherleigh Silver Band, plus parents, combined a trip to see Peter Pan at Plymouth's Theatre Royal with a team building day. A band spokesman said the day was thoroughly enjoyed by the youngsters, despite their embarrassment at having to watch their parents shout, 'It's behind you!' at the top of their voices. The next event planned for the trainee musicians is a trip to the cinema in the February half-term. Meanwhile, the senior band are stepping up their preparations for the West of England area contest in march with some serious music making.
