?FIVE Mystery Songs? for soprano and piano are to be heard for the first time in Devon at Tavistock Parish Church on Saturday April 26.

They are the work of Elizabeth Ashford, a composer living near Launceston whose compositions are influenced by rural Cornwall where she has lived for over 20 years.

Her most recent composition entitled ?Out of Winter? for ?cello and classical guitar, was performed in Plymouth last month having just been premiered at Sterts Arts Centre.

Victoria Nelson, soprano, has recently moved to Cornwall from St Albans. She is an experienced recitalist who has toured the country with the Nelson?s Consort and is already making her mark on the west country scene.

The concert will include works of Poulenc, Debussy, Rachmaninov, Quilter and Britten.
