A HIGHLY acclaimed double bass player will give the first concert of 2003 next Wednesday January 15 for Kelly College Concert Society. He is Dominic Seldis, one of the country?s most talented and entertaining musicians.
He will be accompanied by pianist James Pearson, with whom he has performed throughout Europe.
Dominic is principal double bass for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and has appeared as soloist with several orchestras. He was a prizewinner in the Royal Overseas League competition and has broadcast on Radio 4. James has built a reputation as an accompanist and composer. He has worked for the BBC Big Band, Burt Bacharach and John Dankworth.
The programme will include Monti?s ?Czardas? and the ?Moses Variations? by Paganini, as well as a piano medley by George Gershwin and ?Romance? by Richard Strauss. Dominic and James mix anecdotes and humour with their playing, resulting in a very entertaining performance!
The concert begins at 7.45pm in the Melvin Hall, Kelly College, Tavistock. Tickets at the door are £8 (£6 concessions). Under 18 year-olds accompanied by an adult are admitted free.
