A CHRISTMAS event for all the family is being hosted by the National Trust's Buckland Abbey, near Yelverton, on three weekends this December.
People can discover Christmas through the ages with costumed characters, glorious decorations, food and music from Tudor, Georgian and Victorian times.
'Christmas at the Abbey' takes place from Fridays to Sundays, from December 5 to 21, between noon and 4pm.
There will be a host of activities, which include helping to make desserts for Lady Seaton's feast in the Victorian kitchen, listening to Tudor music with 'Mock Hobby Horse', on Saturdays only, joining in the after dinner fun in the dining room with its 18th century inhabitants, taking part in children's trails, bauble making, and visiting Father Christmas in his grotto.
Helen Royall, house steward at Buckland Abbey, said: 'Our Christmas event is an ideal opportunity for the whole family to come along and have some fun, and also to learn new and interesting things about the beautiful surroundings and rich history of the abbey.'
