THE MUSEUM of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton is holding a 'Making a Difference' event tomorrow (Friday) between 2pm and 3.30pm.

Maurie Webber, the curator of the museum in West Street, said: 'This is a thank you for all our volunteers for what they do and is part of a national Community Service Volunteers' Day.   There will also be a cream tea and one or two surprises.'

On Saturday the museum is having an 'open day' between 10.30am and 4pm when admission is free.

It promises a day of 'fun and discovery' and will include workshops for children, the launch of the BBC History Project 'Turn back in Time', 'Fantasy Okehampton — how do you see Okehampton in 500 or 1,000 years time? and much more.
