I FIND it hard to believe that two of our town councillors find an advertising sign incongruous because it can be seen from Simmon's Park, and for Mr Ireland to make a point on the fact it can been seen from the play area is ridiculous. Does he think the youngsters will be shocked and offended? Mums —cover their eyes!

If, as Cllr Weekes states, that the loss of sponsorship will have a big effect in the clubs' youth teams, the councillors concerned should be ashamed if the sign is removed and the clubs sponsors pull out.

I would suggest that Cllr's Marsh and Ireland are incongruous with present day life, and they are still living in the Edwardian age, which one I don't know.

I firmly believe the vast majority of the town's population will be able to live with the sign, and just get on with their lives (and maybe buy a pizza).
