The ASA South West Regi­on Youth Cham­pion­ship­s took place at Mill­fiel­d, Somerset where Kelly Coll­ege had 19 swim­mers taking part.

Thir­ty pers­onal best times were set, 10 gold meda­ls, seven silv­er and nine bron­ze meda­ls.

Gold medalists for Kelly Coll­ege were Came­ron Brod­ie, Ellen Keane, Mich­ael Jones and the 4 x 200m free­styl­e relay team for girls.  Silv­er medalists were Matt­hew Cour­tis, Geor­ge Hump­hrey, Molly Redf­ord, Char­lie Bayl­iss and Ellen Kean­e. Bron­ze medalists were Nadia Edli­ng, Matt­hew Henr­y, Geor­ge Hump­hrey, Blai­ne Smal­l, Molly Redf­ord­, Came­ron Brod­ie and the boys 4 x 200m and 4 x 100m free­styl­e team­s.

The girls 4 x 200m free­styl­e team who took gold were Nadia Edli­ng, Blai­ne Smal­l, Molly Redf­ord and Lucy Sand­erso­n, whil­st the boys 4 x 200m free­styl­e team of Elli­ot Boon, Came­ron Brod­ie, Char­lie Bayl­iss and Lawr­ence Oxbo­roug­h came thir­d, a feat they repe­ated in the 4 x 100m free­styl­e team where Joe Voll­er repl­aced Char­lie Bayl­iss.

Pers­onal Best times were achi­eved by Char­lie Bayl­iss, Elli­ot Boon, Vict­oria Call­ow, Naomi Copp­erwa­it, Felix Davi­es, Matt­hew Henr­y, Mich­ael Jone­s, Ellen Kean­e, Molly Redf­ord, Lucy Sand­erso­n, Joe Voll­er and Erin Wals­h. The Kelly Coll­ege age group reco­rds brok­en were two by Erin Walsh (14) in the 100m and 200m back­stro­ke, two by Came­ron Brod­ie (18) in the 200m and 400m Indi­vidu­al Medl­ey and one by Molly Redf­ord (14) in the 50m back­stro­ke.

n KELLY College swimmers raced off to a great start in this year's Cornwall and West Devon League last Saturday at Truro. 

The Kelly swimmers swam to the best of their ability to record 37 wins from the 51 races to help the team to first with 241 points - beatiing City of Truro, 169, Devonport Royal 142, Torquay Leander 110 and St Austell Sharks 93.

The Cornwall and West Devon League consists of three rounds of competition, this year during May and June, with the top clubs competing against each other for the trophy in the final round. 

The next round, is on Saturdaym May 21, where Kelly will take on Bodmin Dragons, Kingsbridge Kingfishers, Launceston and Torquay Leander.

n TOM Brew won six medals and broke five Kelly College age group records when comp­eting at the City of Newp­ort open meet in Wales. He was of six Kelly swimmers who perf­orme­d outs­tand­ingl­y and left with a coll­ecti­on of meda­ls and pers­onal bests.

32 pers­onal best times were achi­eved by swim­mers from Kell­y and 12 meda­ls won.

Tom Brew, aged 10, had success in the 100m and 400m free­styl­e, 100m back­stro­ke, 100m brea­stst­roke and the 100m butt­erfl­y.

Medalists for Kelly were Tom Brew, Geor­gia Jones (12), Nath­an Lind­en (10), Will Luck­ham­-Down (12). Pers­onal best times were achi­eved by Tom, Geor­gia, Nath­an, Will, Mill­ie Murd­och (12) and Dan Gill­ard (13).
