TAVISTOCK garage owner Peggy Radmore met the Queen at North Prospect School in Plymouth on Wednesday — 66 years after meeting the Queen's mother at the same school.
Mrs Radmore was a pupil at the school for the royal visit of the then Duchess of York in 1932 and presented her with a bouquet.
'Over the years I have kept very interested in the school and I have subsequently become a governor.
'They were wondering who should present the posy and they chose me. I am very, very privileged,' said Mrs Radmore.
During her visit — which took place as the Times went to press —the Queen was due to tour the school playground and watch a display of country dancing.
'I think she's coming because we had such a good Ofsted report — it's really a deprived area and we have been working very hard. We are really pleased she's coming,' said Mrs Radmore.
The Queen will be presented with a posy in the school colours of green and gold, with green and gold ribbons.
'We are hoping she will just see it as a normal primary school — we are very honoured and really excited about it all,' said Mrs Radmore.
