STAFF and supporters of Tavistock Hospital's Chemotherapy Outreach services met with the MP for West Devon and Torridge, Geoffrey Cox, recently.

Mr Cox was escorted by Lesley Gibson, fundraising co-ordinator for Chemotherapy Outreach and Triangle Cancer Support Services, which provides the finance for the facility.

The MP first visited Tavistock Hospital, which is the site of the current chemotherapy service and followed with a visit to the Triangle Centre, which when refurbished, will house all chemotherapy outreach services.

Concluding his visit, Mr Cox praised the work of Lesley, hospital staff, health professionals and volunteers who have worked so hard to bring about the outreach facility.

He said: 'What is important now is that this support is maintained, allowed to grow and that we continue to recognise and support the outreach concept and the importance of locally delivered care.'
