AN organisation promoting confidence, self-esteem and independence among differently-able people was visited by Father Christmas for their Christmas fayre last week.

Made-Well, based at West Fishleigh Farm near Hatherleigh, recently held its fayre with lots of gifts and homemade produce on sale in the garden cafe. The fayre was also visited by a pair of Northern Scandinavian reindeer who now live in Devon.

Willow and Catkin are yearlings and are acclimatising to life in England, where there is little of their usual snow-covered tundra to roam.

Made-Well provides a range of constructive, purposeful and positive 'day opportunities' for its clients, designed to promote personal growth by providing activities in leisure and life learning skills.

Clients learn about horticulture, cookery, animal care, willow craft, therapeutic arts and countryside management as they help to run the dedicated horticulture site.

The project is an inclusive organisation with an ethos of encouraging full participation irrespective of age, background, qualifications, training or ability.
