Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier League Probus 3 Callington Town 2 A POOR first half performance from Callington left them with a mountain to climb against Probus and, despite a much improved second half display, Stewart Cawte?s new look team could not prevent the hosts from recording their 14th victory of the season. Mike Dodd gave the home side the lead in 10 minutes and shortly afterwards netted his second. Adam Macpherson headed Callington back into the game but the home side restored their two goal lead before the break. Callington played much better after the break and MacPherson reduced the arrears again with 20 minutes to go but Town could not get the important third. Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Two Foxhole Stars 2 Callington Town 1 FIELDING a side decimated through illness, injury and unavailability, Callington produced a creditable performance against Foxhole and, but for some wayward finishing, they could have returned from China Clay Country with some reward. Both sides created chances in a goalless first half but the home side made the breakthrough shortly after the restart when Chris Dingle chipped the Town keeper to score. Callington came back and Shane Richards fired them level on the hour, but within a minute Dingle had restored the advantage for the home side and they held on to grab all three points. Team news: Saturday, St Pirans Day clash with basement club Porthleven at Ginsters Marshfield Parc (kick off 2.30pm).
