Mount House sent teams of girls and boys in three age groups to the annual Grenville College Millennium Cross-country meeting, and they all gave a good account of themselves. The meeting started with the U9 girls competing in a huge field of 106 runners. The Mount House team achieved outstanding results. Elsa Kent was the individual winner, with Beatrice Wilson in third. The U9 boys team came third in their race while both under 11 teams won silver. In a tough under 13 girls' race, Rosie Yeoward finished seventh and the team fourth place overall. The boys earned another silver trophy, with a good fourth position for George Lundy, Geoff Whaley, head, athletics coach at Mount House said: 'The children ran with great pride and enthusiasm. For the six teams to win a gold, three silvers, a bronze and a fourth position is just reward for their efforts, not just at this event, but throughout the cross-country season.'
