A MOTORCYCLIST from Plymouth died following a collision with a car near Yelverton on Tuesday evening.
Two large motorcycles were in collision with a black Ford Escort on the A386 at the junction of Golf Links Road at around 5.45pm on Tuesday.
The driver of the black Yamaha was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
The man was from Plymouth and had not been named as the Times went to press.
The other motorcyclist was from Somerset and was riding a grey BMW bike.
He suffered serious lower body injuries and is being treated in Derriford Hospital.
The 75 year-old car driver from Plymouth was treated for shock.
The accident caused major delays on the Yelverton to Plymouth road for much of the evening.
Police have appealed for witnesses with any information about the accident to contact them, quoting ref no 1151/0503.
