Devon & Exeter Senior 1 League Okehampton Argyle 2 Bickleigh 1 FOR the second time in a week these teams battled it out and this time it was Argyle that stole the points late in the game. Bickleigh created the better chances in the early exchanges and Argyle had their keeper Daniel Malcolm to thank on several occasions ? when faced with one-on-one situations he pulled off some really good saves. Both teams played their best football when spreading the ball wide to the flanks, avoiding the heavy conditions of the middle areas of the pitch. Argyle opened the scoring when a good decision by the referee allowed Steve Kinsey to make a deep run, avoiding the offside and lobbing the keeper with the Bickleigh linesman waving his flag frantically. Bickleigh came out in the second half and threw everything at Argyle, eventually being rewarded when confusion in the back line allowed the striker in to level within ten minutes. With the game flowing from end to end and chances being missed by both teams the result could have gone either way. Okehampton lost another player through injury and this time it was Steve Williams who had to be carried off with a knee injury. Argyle enjoyed good possession during the last quarter with Mathew King, Robert Sandercock and Adam Mortimore all seeing more of the ball. In time added Mortimore received the ball in the Bickleigh area and slotted it past the keeper to steal the points. This week home to North Tawton or Newtown, 3pm kick-off.
