TAVISTOCK Football Club will be supplying breakfasts and car parking on Goose Fair Day next Wednesday. Chairman Derek Pethick said: ?The car park, manned by club volunteers, will open at 7.30 and remain open long into the evening. The charge will be £3.? As in previous years, the club will also be providing breakfasts at £5 a head. General secretary Sheila Fenner said: ?From eight till two we will be providing a good old fry-up with unlimited tea or coffee.? The club, which has undergone major renovations and added a new extension over the past year, will be officially reopened on Saturday, October 13. l VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help Tavistock Mencap with its main fundraising event at the town?s Alexander Centre on Goose Fair Day. The event is being held from 8.30am to 4pm for the local branch of the charity which helps adults with learning difficulties. Volunteers are needed to help with the surge of people expected at the centre. Mencap are looking for people to help in the main hall with the food, greet people into the centre and help tidy away. Peter Churcher, chairman of Tavistock Mencap, said: ?Anybody of any age can come and help.? They invite anyone who would like a rest from the rides and crowds to join them in the church for light refreshments.
