MORE than 100 delegates filled The Wharf recently for a national conference on dementia aimed at discovering ways in which support can be given to people living with dementia and their carers.
The event was hosted by Rotarians Easing Problems of Dementia (REPoD) with the theme of ‘living well with dementia’ and delegates heard from a wide range of guests speakers.
Tony Parker, president of Tavistock Rotary Club and chair of Tavistock Dementia Action Alliance, spoke at the conference.
He said: ‘Over 3,000 people in Tavistock provide unpaid care to relatives and loved ones each week. Of these, one in three provide more than 50 hours of unpaid care a week.’
