THE Dartmoor Moorland Pony Show is definitely increasing in popularity with numbers of entries up again this year and all of excellent quality.

The inhand judge for the day was Peter Holman who was kept busy with well-filled classes proving just how popular the local breed of traditonal Dartmoor ponies has become.

The winner of the stallion class was John Jordan?s Hisley Craftsman. He went on to take the Adult and Supreme Championships.

The Jordan family totted up the most points, thus winning the John Coaker Memorial Trophy.

Once again the children?s classes proved very popular. The Sayers family were on their first visit to the Moorland Show and had a wonderful day out. Jessica won the Ridden Class with her pony Newoak Nightingale and then went on to beat her brother Charlie to take the Ridden Championship. Charlie had earlier won the Lead Rein Class with Newoak Fairytale.
