IN a fairly even first half, Okehampton ladies? hockey team sat off Launceston more than they should have.
A fine reverse stick goal from Sue Stanbury put Columbines 1-0 up at half-time.
The second half was virtually all Okehampton. Jo Moppett at right wing tore through the Launceston defence time and again with skilful stickwork and Caroline Friend was strong in support at right half.
The second goal came when an excellent cross-field free hit from Jane Jones found Moppett who slotted it past the goalkeeper.
Okehampton were solid in defence when it was needed and ran out worthy winners.
This week, Columbines are away to Plymouth University in the league.
