A WALK and a pint is a weekend 'must' for many, whether it's with man's best friend or not, and the latest in a series of handy guides has just been published by Countryside Books.
The Pocket Pub Walks series now includes an edition featuring 15 walks on Dartmoor, written in clear and informative fashion by Michael Bennie.
All of them are between three and six miles, and can be finished off with refreshments at a Dartmoor hostelry.
Each of the walks has an introduction, directions on how to get to your starting point, details of distance and terrain, contact details for the relevant pub, numbered route directions and details of places of interest in the surrounding area. Accompanied by full colour photographs, the paperback guide is small and neat enough to fit in a pocket.
Michael Bennie is a keen walker and has written a number of popular walking guides, including several in this series.
Pocket Pub Walks — Dartmoor is available from bookshops priced £5.99, ISBN 9781846741968.
