A TEAM of specialists from Macmillan Cancer Support's mobile service is stopping off in Okehampton on Tuesday, March 5.

Everyone is welcome to meet the team, and no appointments are necessary. A team of information and support specialists will be on board to offer free, confidential advice and support to anyone with a concern or a question relating to cancer.

Macmillan's five mobile information units travel around the UK visiting local communities, providing cancer information and advice on the ground.

Amanda Cummings, Macmillan mobile cancer information and support specialist, said: 'More than 4,670 people in Devon receive a cancer diagnosis every year, and each of these people require support.

'They need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support. Cancer is the toughest fight many people will ever face. If you have any worries or questions about cancer, whether it's about yourself, a relative or friend, come and talk to us.'

The mobile unit will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm in Waitrose car park. If you cannot visit the centre when it comes to town but have questions about cancer, you can call Macmillan free on 0808 808 00 00 or log on to http://www.macmillan.org.uk">www.macmillan.org.uk
