CHAGFORD made a flying start to the season with a comfortable win at the newly promoted Beacon Knights.

A goal in each half, from Andrew Davis, earned a new look Chagford the points and ensured a better opening than last year's.

Beacon Knights had little to offer and even their equaliser had a touch of fortune to it, although these are the goals Chagford need to guard against.

Chagford fielded a young side but, in these days of fast-paced football, that is no bad thing providing they gel fairly quickly in a tough division.

FOLLOWING an opening midweek win at Beacon Knights, Chagford came home on Saturday feeling they should have done a lot better against a poorer side.

Opportunities were spurned in front of the hosts goal and two second half mistakes handed all three points to them.
