South Zeal Utd 1 Crediton 3 A CATALOGUE of missed chances, an own goal and several shots that hit the woodwork, cost Zeal progress into the next round of the Devon Senior Cup. It took an own goal after 15 minutes, when a mix up between Reg Wonnacott and Adam Cann resulted in a harmless ball being put through his own goal by Reg, to galvanise Zeal into action. During the period between the own goal and half time Zeal scrapped the bar twice and hit the post from short range but could not take the chances created and went two down when after a corner was cleared by Crediton, one of the visitors? strikers took the ball on and gave Adam Cann in the Zeal goal no chance with a superb shot from the edge of the Zeal penalty area. In the second half Zeal pushed on an extra striker and could have gone on and won the game easily. But apart from a goal from Harley Cann chance after chance went begging. With just five minutes left with Zeal pushing everyone forward Crediton broke and scored their third and clinching goal from close range. Next week Exmouth Amateurs away KO 3pm.
