OKEHAMPTON started the friendly superbly and it was not long before they won themselves a short corner with James Rogers turning the ball in after a well worked move.
Exe equalised before a good flowing move allowed Mark Parsons to give the visitors the lead again. Chris Luxton scored his first after a good ball across the area found him unmarked and Luke Miller ran the length of the opposition half before playing a one-two to score the fourth.
Looking comfortable at half time and playing some really good flowing hockey Okehampton found themselves on the back foot at the beginning of the second half.
Exe reduced the score with their second before the same short corner routine worked again and Rogers had his second. The host continued to pressure Okehampton and scored a third before Joff Stephens won a flick for the away team, which resulted in Miller scoring his second.
Okehampton then assumed control again and Luxton got his second before Miller got his hat-trick.
Man of the match was Nick Luxton. This was an impressive start for Okehampton.
