A SPATE of milk thefts have been reported in West Devon recently.

Police say evidence suggests that the thefts are linked and that the thief or thieves are being very deliberate in their actions. The scale of the problem is growing and local police are appealing to the public for information.

Sgt Dave Anning said: 'If you see anyone picking milk up off the doorstep please take any description and tell police. Registration numbers are always welcome.

'If you find milk on your doorstep and you haven't ordered any, please call police as it may have been placed there by the thief after taking it from another doorstep.'

Police ask if possible do not touch the bottle as it may be possible to fingerprint it.
