MIKE Charlesworth has been announced as the new vice-captain of Okehampton Golf Club,and will take up his post when Richard Johnson takes over as the new captain in 2002.
Mike, who works as a paramedic in Exeter, has been a member of the club since 1989 and has a handicap of fifteen.
The announcement was made at the prize-giving for the annual Whisky Greensomes competition which took place on Sunday. The competition was won by Mrs Janet Hatch and Malcolm Hill with a score of 43 stableford points.
On Saturday the club held a Texas Scramble and winners were Ian Moore, Daniel Hudson and Tim Hudson with a net 52.
