For the 2011 season TyreMarks of Tavistock has sponsored Mike Rowe, a rider from Yelverton to compete in the South West Premier Motocross Championship.

 Mark Tillyer the owner of TyreMarks also races motorbikes on and off road, having raced gruelling three hour Enduro's off road for the past few years. After winning the ORE South West Clubman Enduro Championship last year decided to have a go at racing motocross.

Mike, aged 21, is a mechanic at Leg O Mutton Garage at Yelverton.  Mark and Mike both ride very powerful, top spec machines, the KTM 450SXF. 

Mike has competed very successfully for over 10 years and is one of the best motocross riders in the area.  This year he has joined forces with the TyreMarks Racing Team to contend for the ACU Phoenix Tools South West premier junior motocross championship - the highest standard motocross in the South of England. 

In the junior group Mike is doing very well and flying the flag high for the TyreMarks team this year finishing nearly every race in the top five with his first win this season at Marshfield Bristol.

So far he has secured himself at least third place in the Championship with one round left .
