WOMEN from across West Devon who took part in a 14-mile walk for charity in May are invited to a special presentation night on September 5. The Tavistock Midnight Walk was to raise money for Derriford?s oncology department and Primrose breast cancer unit. A total of 339 women took part in the event, organised by ?Tavistock Star Trekkers?, to correspond with the Moonwalk in London, which also raised money for cancer care. The walk was started by Dr Eric Drabble and Dr Pat Macleod. Dr Drabble will collect for the breast cancer unit and Dr Macleod for the oncology department at the presentation evening. Bev Rodgers, one of the organisers, appeals to women who took part in the walk and still have sponsorship money to hand in to contact her before Tuesday so the correct amount can be accounted for.
