A NUMBER of West Devon establishments have been mentioned in the latest edition of the 2000 Michelin Hotel and Restaurants Guide to Great Britain and Ireland published this week.

Gidleigh Park near Chagford retains its two stars, just one of six in England to attain the standard.

Hunts Tor at Drewsteignton retains its Bib Gourmand as does Percy's at Coombeshead, Virginstow.

This year Michelin Red Guides celebrate 100 years — the only break in publication occurred during the two world wards.

The new guide lists over 6,200 establishments including 4,861 hotels, 1,426 restaurants and 216 pubs.
