A MEMORIAL football match will take place in Gunnislake on Sunday (August 28), to commemorate the life of local man Andy Southcott.
The match between two teams made up of various local players will pay tribute to Andy as well as raise money for several cancer charities.
Battling it out will be Team A versus Team B‚ two diverse squads made up of Gunnislake FC veterans, current players, ex-players, alongside their sons and nephews.
Andy, who sadly lost his battle with cancer at the beginning of last year, will be honoured and remembered when the match kicks off at 1.30pm at the King George V Playing Field, Gunnislake.
Ian Southcott, Andy’s brother and Team A manager, said: ‘We are hoping for a great day where we can have a get together and raise a little bit of money for some good causes along the way.’
Following the match, players and spectators will be welcome for post-game drinks at a local hostelry.
