IT IS already gearing up to be a hotly contested Members? Race at the Lamerton Hunt point-to-point on Saturday. Despite falling on black ice during the cold snap and having to train her horses from crutches, Pauline Geering?s string look on-song. Jo Sleep and Yvonne Watson?s horses are also shaping up well, and former Lamerton huntsman Tony Boon has three to choose from for this race. Some of the best horses in the area will be chasing a £500 prize pool in the mixed open race - a big turnout is expected for this Easter Saturday extravaganza. Always popular with enthusiasts for its fantastic natural grandstand views, the point-to-point is a must for the season. Bookmakers, refreshments including a bar and trade stands make for an enjoyable day out for all the family. The Times is again sponsoring this event. First race is at 12.30pm. Enquiries to Belinda Fuller on 01822 860253 or Louise Cox on 870534.
