WEST Devon police are holding their next police authority liaison meeting on Wednesday April 18 at the Charter Hall in Okehampton. The meeting is an opportunity for any member of the public to raise issues, questions, suggestions or concerns about policing in the Okehampton area. Okehampton's new neighbourhood team leader PC Matt Longman should be at the meeting. Matt's position is a new post for Okehampton — and gives the area a dedicated sergeant in charge of community policing. Matt is keen to make sure there is lots of communication between the police and the public. He said: 'It's important for us to hear public opinion and be in contact with the community. We want to be both visible and accessible.'
