TWO North Tawton women are celebrating completion of a marathon charity effort recently, in which they raised an incredible £500 for breast cancer charities.
Rebecca Knott and Jo Sulivan completed the Playtex Moonwalk in central London in just seven hours, seven minutes, wearing specially customised bras. They were two of the first 500 to cross the finish line, out of an international field of walkers totalling some 8,000 bra-clad competitors.
The Moonwalk is now in its fourth year, so called because the walkers leave the starting point at Battersea Park at midnight. Charities to benefit from the event are the Bristol Cancer Help Centre and Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research.
The event is sponsored by Playtex and all the power walkers, men women and children, are encouraged to decorate and wear bras for the event.
Rebecca and Jo said: 'We would like to say a big thank you to all who have sponsored us, looked after our children in our busy months of training and gave us their support, whether in the months leading up to the event, on the night or in our days of recovery.'
