A CHRISTMAS gift that requires hardly any wrapping paper, gives something to look forward to in the New Year and raises money for a good cause as well is on offer in Tavistock.
An evening of medieval music which brings alive the spirit of the Middle Ages in songs and words has been organised to raise money for Whitchurch's new village hall.
The entertainment is being provided by Lammas — an acclaimed duo who perform in costume, using replica musical instruments. They sing a varied selection of medieval music and include readings from the period, plus some fascinating anecdotes about Middle Age minstrels and their masters.
Tickets for the event, which is being held on Monday February 23 at St Eustachius Church, cost £8 in advance or £10 and are available from sponsors Mansbirdge and Balment at Yelverton and Tavistock. They are available by post from 140 Whitchurch Road, Tavistock PL19 9DE. Please make cheques payable to Whitchurch Village Hall.
