TAVISTOCK Swimming Club continued to increase their medal tally and total of personal best times at the City of Plymouth Championships with numerous medals and 33 pbs.

Club captain Richard Freedman had an outstanding swim in the men's 100m freestyle in a time of 56.75 to take bronze in his age group and earn a place in the championship final, in which he came in fifth.

A bronze also came Richard's way in the 100m backstroke. Gold went to Rachael Kelly in the 15 years' 100m backstroke and gold to Philip Webb in the 50m butterfly. William Crocker added another silver to his collection with a personal best in the 14 years' 50m butterfly and bronze in the 100m

butterfly.

The breaststoke events brought Tavistock further medals with silver going to Michael Best in the 200m 14 years and silver to Chris Ralph in the 200m15 years.

Natalie Greep and Alice Warnett had excellent swims to take bronze in their age groups and a further bronze went to Michael Best in the 50m breaststoke.

Tamar Preston won silver in the 15 years 100m freestyle and Rebecca Mills silver in the 50m butterfly, having recently returned to training after injury.

The individual medley events increased Tavistock's medal total even further with Chris Ralph taking silver in the 15 years 200m IM, bronze in the 400m IM and bronze going to William Crocker in the 14 years events.

Throughout the age groups the personal best times continued to come thick and fast, including Laura Radgick who sliced nine seconds off her 100m individual medley time, Joshua Stephens who swam a four second pb in the 50m butterfly and Ross Williams who took 22 seconds off his 200m breaststroke.

Martyn Greep had a very good swim, taking five seconds off his 50m breaststoke and the 200m backstroke gave Kirsty Best a 12 second pb with Ryan Greep swimming a 12 second pb to give him sixth place in the 13 years 100m freestyle.

The 200m individual medley saw Caroline Tuck improve her time by eight seconds and Amy Warnett and Monica Les just missed their personal best times in the 200m IM and 50m butterfly respectively but took fifth place in their age groups.

William Crocker was placed fifth in the 14 years age group BAGCAT awards - resulting from a points total of all best swims - with Michael Best coming in sixth and Kirsty Best being awarded sixth in the 12 years age froup.

In the stroke category, Chris Ralph came fouth in individual medley and fifth in the breaststroke.
