AT the recent Grand Western Field Archery Championships held near Dunster Castle three of Tavistock Company Archers came back with medals. The course was hilly and well laid out using several of the lakes on the site, maximum score for the day was 640. Ashley Cackett, shooting in the Junior boys? Compound Unlimited Class, came first with a score of 505, whilst his mum Sandi Cackett took the Ladies Title in the Freestyle class with a score of 390. In the Gents? Unlimited class Lez James took the title with a score of 620. This is the first time that the club have had GWAS winners in it.
