I SO agree with Mrs Rosemary Pethick?s letter concrning the Meadows. I was born and brought up in Tavistock and as a small child enjoyed the Meadows in its heyday ? the paddling pool, the sandpits, the beautiful lily pond.
It was such a lovely place, not the litter strewn, graffiti ridden, vandalised desert it is now.
How sad, and what a loss to Tavistock.

AS a relative newcomer to Tavistock (eleven and a half years) I am in full agreement with Mrs Pethick
(re Meadows).
Whilst progress in inevitable and in some ways a good thing, it is about time that the citizens of Tavistock be asked what they would like to keep and in what form.
The average age of the population here is quite high and the councillors should be guided by them rather than by the ideas presented by advisors and consultants who are invariably only in it for the money.
