A RECENT TV programme explored the lack of investment in public parks. It cited loss of ?music in the park?, a criticism not entirely applicable to Tavistock. On fine summer Sundays a long established ensemble of wind instrumentalists and a percussionist can be found in the Meadows bandstand in melodious harmony. They do not advertise their delightful concerts as to do so would, they say, place them under an obligation to play in fair weather and foul. Long may the sun shine upon them in their tranquil, tree-lined semi-rural setting by the river. G Kirkpatrick Parkwood Road Tavistock
