Tavistock Ladies 4

Plym Valley seconds 1

TAVISTOCK started In a positive frame of mind. They soon put together some great flowing hockey, moving the ball well around the pitch but couldn't quite get the final touch.

White and Lamb linked well down the right with Lamb doing her customary driving runs and crosses into the 'D'. The game was going more the home side's way but Plym were quick on the break and pressured the defence but Mills-Hicks, Boulle and Evans cleared the ball away.

The visitors were the first to score when the home defence were outnumbered and the ball went over the top of a diving Viggars.

However Tavistock drew level after Gaspar passed the ball from the back line to Boulle at the top the 'D' who swiftly passed on to Armstrong whose fierce strike connected with Gaspar on the far post to slot it into the net.

The second goal was from a penalty corner. Lamb received the ball wide and crossed it back in to McClumpha who swept it firmly into the net. The hockey Tavistock were playing was excellent and the opposition were finding it difficult to stop them.

McClumpha got her second with a well taken goal from open play. In the second half Tavistock were mainly camped in the oppositions half.

The final goal came from another penalty corner. Gaspar received it at the top of the 'D' and struck it hard and fast into the back of the net. More chances went begging with Gaspar and Gawman coming close again. The opposition had a few break through runs but fine defending particularly by Evans.
