WEST Devon mayor Cllr Richard Phillips presented members of Youthwize with a cheque for £779.63 recently, which will go towards re-decoration of their premises and a music centre for their mobile unit.
Youthwize, which educates West Devon youngsters about issues such as drugs, alcohol and sexual health, is the mayor?s chosen charity for his year in office.
The money was raised through several fund raising events, including a performance in Okehampton of the Devon and Cornwall Police Constabulary Band, the borough council?s Christmas raffle and a competition to guess the name of Cllr Phillips? new baby.
