THE official opening of the Woburn Room at Tavistock's Abbeyfield Society was attended by mayor of Tavistock, Cllr Harry Smith and deputy mayor of West Devon Borough Council, Cllr David Cloke, last month.

The ribbon was cut by Heather Mohammed, business manager, The Abbeyfield Society (Devon and Cornwall) and Margaret Bennett, a resident of Abbeyfield Tavistock Society.

Abbeyfield Tavistock Society offers sheltered housing for the elderly and the Woburn Room provides residents with additional communal space for events, talks and other social activities.

The society would like to thank local councillors and volunteers who gave their support for this project.
