YELVERTON Bowling Club recently held its May Bank Triples. Winners were Bob Burnett, Sybil Heathcock and Doreen Johnston; runners-up Roger Ley, Jeanne Holloway and Alan Marshall.

The following day two Ladies? Pairs entered the Over 55 County Pairs at Central Park. They were drawn against each other, with Liz Broughton and Margaret Hartigan winning only to be beaten in the next round. The men had a league match against New Plymouth which they lost.

The ladies took part in the first round of Inter Club which they won by beating a team from Paignton Bowling Club. They had a friendly away match against Plymouth Sir Francis Drake. Two rinks lost and the third won. Overall Sir Francis Drake were the winners.

On Saturday members played for the Roy Stacey Rose Bowl. Again this was an all day triples event. Everyone was keen to win as Roy was a very popular member of the Club. The winners were Ron Hunter, Gwen Dean and Marian Whitehead with the runners-up being Henry Towl, Val Edwards and Liz Broughton.
