Devon and Exeter division one

Heavitree Social United 4

Chagford 4

CHAGFORD led twice, recovered from being behind twice but still felt unfortunate to only leave the city with one point — which keeps them in third place in the table.

Matt Mortimer opened the scoring early on for Chagford, meeting a well placed corner and heading firmly home. From there the visitors enjoyed much of the play uphill but failed to take chances when Davis and Scott were through on the last man. The Moormen were made to pay a costly price when, not long before the break, they failed to clear their lines and conceded an equaliser.

The second half opened with Chagford still holding sway and strong linking play by Davis, Woof and de Cruz set up Steve Scott to tuck away the ball neatly.

Goals came regularly after that, Chagford giving away another soft goal followed by yet another to give Heavitree the lead. Jon de Cruz poached a third Chagford goal only for their hosts to go ahead again soon after.

With the last seconds of additional time ticking away, Matt Mortimer was on hand to put away Chagford's fourth and salvage a point.
